Reviewing Open Positions on easyMarkets Vanilla Options Platform
easyMarket’s vanilla options platform gives users a clean and easy interface to place orders and review open positions. From the open position’s page you can analyse profits and close positions. You do not need to wait until the expiry date to close a position. You can close multiple trades at the same time. To see a report of all your account transactions and closed trades, go to the menu available under ‘my account’.
Scenario chart
Before and after opening a trade you will see the Scenarios button:
Upon clicking the button, you will be presented with a chart and table showing the payout of your trade over a range of market rates. You can choose to view the pay-out based on Net Present Value (NPV) or pay-out at expiry. The vertical axis represents profit or loss and the horizontal axis represents the market rate. The horizontal zero line is the breakeven point. Anything above the zero line is a profit and anything below is a loss. The blue vertical line indicates the current underlying market rate. You can change the pip step value to view your payout over a smaller or wider range of market rates.
The example below is a Scenario chart for a buy EUR/USD Call expiring in 7 days. As the market rate rises profit increases and as the market falls, the trade makes a loss which is limited to the premium paid for the option, 42.13 USD.
